The Government of India has provided all citizens with a unique identity number known as the Aadhaar Card. This identity proof is widely recognized as a legal and highly secure document within the country. Since its introduction, the Aadhaar card has sparked controversy, primarily due to concerns regarding the safety of personal data held by the Government. However, it is important to note that the card is not yet mandatory for all transactions and remains an optional form of identification. To obtain an Aadhaar card, individuals must visit their nearest Aadhaar Centre. Once issued, an online version of the card called E-Aadhaar can be utilized for various purposes and can also be downloaded and printed.
