Aadhaar Card Not Received

The Aadhaar number is a unique identification number consisting of 12 digits. It is issued by the UIDAI on behalf of the Government of India to every citizen of India. The purpose of Aadhaar is to serve as a singular identification document and it should not be considered a substitute for other important documents like PAN, passport, or driving license. The issuance of Aadhaar is based on the biometric and demographic data of Indian residents.

Once you have applied for an Aadhaar card, it may take approximately 3 months for you to receive it. However, there are instances where the card may not be delivered within the specified time frame. If you have not received your Aadhaar card at your registered address, you have the option to obtain it both online and offline. In order to do so, it is essential to ensure that your Aadhaar has been successfully generated.

How to Get Aadhaar Offline?

If you are not familiar with the online procedure, then you can choose to visit the nearest enrolment centre to get your Aadhaar. In this case you must fill out and submit the form physically. You need to also get your information and biometrics verified. Once your details are verified, you will receive Aadhaar at your residential address.

About Aadhaar Card
How to Get Aadhaar Online?

If you have applied for an Aadhaar card and the online status inquiry shows that the card has been prepared and dispatched, but you have not received it yet, there are a few steps you can take. Sometimes, Aadhaar cards are not delivered due to various reasons such as backlog in printing, technical issues, or loss during transit at the post office. However, even if you haven’t received your Aadhaar card, you can still avail all the benefits under the Aadhaar program as long as your Aadhaar number has been generated.

To obtain an online copy of your Aadhaar card, you can easily visit the UIDAI’s website or use their mobile app. From there, you can download a printable version of your Aadhaar card, which is known as e-Aadhaar. This e-Aadhaar is considered valid and accepted as the Aadhaar letter, serving as a Proof of Identity (POI) or Proof of Residence (POR). To access your Aadhaar card online, you will need to have your enrolment ID handy. The enrolment ID can be found on the acknowledgement slip provided to you after submitting your documents at the Aadhaar enrolment center.
