Know all about UIDAI Aadhaar card including its eligibility, documentation requirement, application process, Aadhaar card download, benefits, link with PAN and more.
The primary goal of UIDAI is to provide an Aadhaar number to each and every resident of India, thereby granting them a portable form of identification that can be verified at any time and any place. By utilizing the Aadhaar platform, service providers are able to electronically authenticate the identity of residents in a secure and expedient manner, resulting in a more economical and streamlined service delivery process.
This service allows individuals to verify the authenticity of an Aadhaar number. It is commonly used by employers to verify the identity of their employees.
Cardholders can use this service to verify their email address and mobile number. It ensures that the information provided during enrolment is accurate.
If an individual has lost or forgotten their Aadhaar number (UID) or enrolment number (EID), they can retrieve it by providing their full name, mobile number or email address, captcha verification code, and OTP. Once the correct details are provided, the UID/EID will be displayed on the screen.
The VID is a temporary 16-digit code that can be used instead of the Aadhaar number. It allows individuals to protect their Aadhaar number when sharing it with service providers such as banks, mobile service providers, and gas connections. The VID is linked to the Aadhaar number and provides basic KYC details without revealing other stored data. It is highly secure and cannot be used to trace the Aadhaar number.
Aadhaar holders have the option to safeguard their biometric authentication by locking it, which renders it unusable for authentication purposes by anyone else. Prior to any biometric authentication transaction, residents may unlock their biometrics.
It is possible for Aadhaar holders to verify the linkage of their Aadhaar with their bank account by accessing the Aadhaar Linking status retrieved from the NPCI Server. It should be noted that UIDAI bears no responsibility or liability for the accuracy of the displayed status, regardless of the situation. Additionally, any information obtained from the NPCI server is not stored by UIDAI.
