Change Photo in Aadhaar Card

Users have the option to modify their Aadhaar card picture through the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). This service incurs a fee of Rs 100, as determined by UIDAI. It is important to note that this procedure cannot be completed online; instead, individuals must personally visit their local Aadhaar Permanent Enrolment Centre to update their photograph. Nevertheless, prior to visiting the Aadhaar centre, individuals can download the enrolment form from the internet and complete it in advance.

Steps to Change the Aadhaar Card Photo
  •  Visit the nearest Aadhaar Permanent Enrolment Centre

  • Collect the Aadhaar enrolment form

  •  Fill in the relevant details on the form

  •  Provide the form and give the biometric details

  • A photograph of you will be taken by the executive

  • The biometric details will need to be provided for approval

  • A fee of Rs.100 will need to be paid to update the Biometrics details on the Aadhaar

  • An acknowledgement slip will be provided to you with an Update Request Number (URN) mentioned on it

  •  You can check the status of your request by using the URN

  •  No supporting documentation would be required to update the Aadhaar Card’s photo
Steps to Download the Aadhaar Card after Photo Change
  • Visit https://uidai.gov.in/my-aadhaar/get-aadhaar.html.

  •  Click on ‘Download Aadhaar’.

  • Enter the Aadhaar Number, Enrolment ID, or Virtual ID.

  •  Enter the captcha and click on ‘Send OTP’.

  •  Enter the OTP that is sent to your registered mobile number.

  •  Follow the steps on the next page to download the Aadhaar Card.

  •  You will also have the option to print the Aadhaar.

  •  This process is applicable after changing the photo on your Aadhaar Card.

  •  The step-by-step procedure is easy to follow.

  •  Ensure that you have your registered mobile number with you to receive the OTP.
Important Points to Remember when Updating the Photo on the Aadhaar Card
  •  Updating the photo on the Aadhaar Card cannot be done online at present.

  •  The status of the Aadhaar Card can be verified using the URN.

  •  Changing the photo on the Aadhaar Card does not require any document submission.
