The Permanent Account Number (PAN) is a distinctive alphanumeric code that not only encapsulates an individual's financial history but also serves as a crucial identity proof. Both the photo and signature carry significant importance in the PAN, especially during the verification process for financial services like loans, credit cards, or investments. To avoid future inconveniences, here's a guide on how to change the photo and signature on your PAN card, both online and offline
Visit NSDL’s Official Website:
Go to NSDL’s website at https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html
Select Application Type:
Choose “Changes or Correction in existing PAN data” from the “Application Type” option.
Choose Category:
Under the “Category” menu, select “Individual.”
Enter Applicant Information:
Fill in the required applicant information and click on “Submit.”
Note Token Number:
Note the generated token number for reference and proceed with the PAN application.
Perform KYC:
Choose the preferred method for KYC and enter mandatory details, including Aadhaar/EID.
Photo and Signature Update:
Tick “Photo Mismatch” and “Signature Mismatch,” then provide Father’s or Mother’s details. Click “Next” for PAN card signature change or photo update.
Address and Contact Details:
Enter personal details such as address and contact information in the “Address and Contact” section.
Provide Document Proofs:
Submit proof of identity, proof of address, and proof of date of birth. If you submit your Aadhaar card, the first three requirements are fulfilled. Additionally, provide a copy of your PAN or PAN allotment letter.
Tick Declaration and Submit:
Tick the declaration section and click on “Submit” to submit your details.
Upload Document Proofs:
Upload scanned copies of the document proofs for verification.
Review and Submit:
Review the complete form and click on “Submit” to finalize your details. You can click on “Edit” to make any necessary updates.
Make Payment:
Make a payment of ₹110 (including GST) if your address is within India or ₹1020 (including GST) if your address is outside India.
Save and Print Application:
Save the application and take a printout.
Send Application to NSDL:
Note Acknowledgement Number: Upon submission, you will receive a 15-digit acknowledgement number. Keep this number for tracking the status of your application.
To initiate a change in the photo and signature on your PAN card, you need to provide the following documents:
Proof of Identity, Address, and Date of Birth:
These are standard identification documents required for PAN card modifications.
Proof of Aadhaar:
A copy of your Aadhaar card is necessary if AADHAAR is mentioned in the application.
Additional Documents for PAN Change Request:
Photo of the Applicant (In Case of Photo Change):
The photo submitted should adhere to specific dimensions: 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm or 132.28 pixels x 94.49 pixels.
Ensure that all submitted documents are clear, valid, and meet the specified requirements for a smooth processing of your PAN card change request.
Download the Application Form:
Download the “Request for New PAN Card or/and Changes or Correction in PAN Data” form from the official NSDL website.
Carefully Fill Out Details:
Thoroughly complete all mandatory details in the form, ensuring accuracy.
Attach Relevant Documents:
Collect and attach the necessary documents, including proof of address, proof of identity, passport-size photographs, and any other required paperwork.
Submit at Nearest NSDL Collection Centre:
Submit the filled-out form along with the supporting documents at the nearest NSDL collection centre. Choose an authorized and recognized centre for a legitimate processing.
Pay Applicable Charges:
Pay the applicable charges for the offline PAN card update or correction. Payment can typically be made at the submission centre. After successful payment, you will be provided with a 15-digit acknowledgement number.
Receive Acknowledgement Number:
This 15-digit acknowledgement number is crucial for tracking the status of your PAN card application.
