Before applying for an Aadhaar card, it is crucial for an applicant to ensure that they have all the necessary documents ready when visiting the enrolment centre. The application process for an Aadhaar card remains the same for all individuals, including Indian citizens, non-resident Indians, OCI cardholders, LTV holders, Nepal/Bhutan nationals, and other resident foreigners who have spent a minimum of 182 days in India within the past year. This process also applies to minors and senior citizens.
Step 1:
Access the website https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/easearch.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 and input your State/ Pincode/ Locality/ District to locate the nearest Aadhaar enrollment centre.

Proceed to the centre and ensure that you bring the original copies of the required documents as proof of the following:

Upon arrival at the enrolment centre, complete the enrolment form accurately with the necessary information.
Step 4:
Submit the fully filled enrolment form along with the aforementioned supporting documents. Your biometric information, including iris and fingerprint scans, as well as a photograph, will be captured.
Step 5:
The representative at the centre will provide you with an acknowledgement slip as confirmation of your enrolment. This slip contains a 14-digit enrolment number, which can be used to track the status of your Aadhaar card application on the website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/CheckAadhaarStatus.
Step 6:
Once your information has been verified, your Aadhaar card will be dispatched to you via mail. Please note that it may take up to 90 days (3 months) for the card to be delivered.

Any resident of India or any individual who has resided in India for a period or periods amounting to 182 days or more in the 12 months immediately preceding the date of application for enrolment.
The delivery of the Aadhaar card to your home address can be completed within a maximum of 90 days, or three months, once all the necessary documents and biometric data have been collected. Due to the high volume of applicants, there may be instances where the card is not delivered to the correct cardholder within this timeframe. The responsibility of delivering the card lies with India Post.
In cases where an individual requires immediate possession of their Aadhaar card, they have the option to obtain a digital copy known as the E-Aadhaar.
The process to obtain the E-Aadhaar online is as follows:
Step 1:
Visit the official website of the Aadhaar card.
Step 2:
Fill out the form by providing either your enrolment number or your Aadhaar number.
If you have your enrolment number, enter it along with your name, pin code, mobile number, and the specific day and time displayed on your acknowledgement page.
Alternatively, if you know your Aadhaar number, provide your name, mobile number, and pin code. Once the form is completed, a One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the mobile number provided. This OTP will enable you to download the colored Aadhaar letter.
